The Ultimate Romantic Soundtrack For Valentine’s Day
While this holiday gets a lot of flak from those who think itโs too commercial, personally Iโve always enjoyed it! Yes, thereโs candy and flowers and a fair amount of retail chaos, but I prefer to focus on what Valentineโs Day is supposed to be about โ celebrating love and romance! :-)
I may be a bit biased toward Valentineโs Day though, as it’s also the anniversary of when Dave asked me to marry him back in 1987.โฃโฃโฃ Though weโve certainly had our fair share of ups and downs, weโll always be each otherโs โvalentine!โ (He is, after all, the love of my life, my partner through thick and thin, the father of my children, and my best friend!) :-)
We always look forward to celebrating together in some way, which usually involves a special dinner and exchanging gifts. But Iโve also been working on something that I think will make not only our at-home Valentineโs date a little more special (and even more romantic!), but that I hope will enhance your Valentineโs plans too!

Because Iโve said it before and Iโll say it againโno occasion is complete without music! Thatโs why Iโve put together a Valentineโs playlist featuring several of my all-time favorite love songs, and Iโm excited to share it with all of you today! :-)
Set The Mood For Romance With This Valentine’s Playlist
In my “Valentineโs With Jillee” playlist, I simply had to include the two songs that Dave and I consider to be โour songsโ โ โCrazy For Youโ by Madonna and โNothingโs Gonna Stop Us Nowโ by Starship (formerly Jefferson Starship).
I’ve also included a few favorites of members of the OGT Team, like my daughter-in-law Kaitlyn and son Erikโs song โYouโre the Reason I Come Homeโ by Ron Pope, as well as some love songs suggested by OGT readers on social media.
(Speaking of which, I reach out on social media fairly regularly seeking input or suggestions on blog posts I’m working on, and Iโd love to hear from you! Follow me on Instagram at @byjillee.)
Iโll be listening to the upbeat “Valentineโs With Jillee” playlist for days, and I hope you enjoy it too! Just like with my Christmas playlist and Spring Cleaning playlist, you can stream my Valentine’s playlist on Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Spotify.

โI Donโt Know Much, But I Know I Love Youโ by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt
But what a list youโve compiled- wow! Thank you.
“Loving You” by Elvis has always been one of my very favorites, along with “Scotch and Soda” by the Kingston Trio. Great list, most of my favorites are there.

Please log in or create a free account to comment.Nice list but you missed anything by Barry White. That man can sing a love song like no other. Happy Valentineโs Day!
Please log in or create a free account to comment.Jillee, I love this list! I also love that it is actual SONGS…with words you can hear and understand! Know what I mean? The songs that we are talking about enjoying were written to say something to another person, unlike the music of today that is written to tell the world something and you don’t get it unless your bangin’ your head to the beat! Gives me a headache! Crazy! My most recent husband (#2!) and I had a song because people weren’t understanding why we were together, he was younger than I and we just knew how we felt. (don’t know if I am making sense or not) Anyway, it was around 1984-85 and it was “Can’t stop this feeling”, by REO Speedwagon. Anyway, I guess I am just rambling! Thanks for the songs and a very Happy Valentines Day to you and Dave. God bless!

WOW! Thank you so much for sharing the amazing list of songs. I’ll spend the morning figuring out to ‘stream’ the songs or whatever has to be done in order to listen to them. I’m not exactly a tech-savvy individual, however. But the effort will be worth the time. With COVID 19 still lingering, many of us will be staying close to home for our Valentine’s Day celebrations – and these mucis choices will make the day more special.
